Pixar genius reigns in this funny romantic comedy, which stars a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, Wall-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot--with a big, big heart--who holds the future of earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He's outlasted all the "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class" robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom. Wall-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he's developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, Wall-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE's directive compels her to bring Wall-E's newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and Wall-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth.  Outstanding! January 9, 2009
First, the DVD packaging is intriguing, very cool. The digital copy is a godsend - now I can play WALL-E on my iPhone, my iPod... EASILY! It's wonderful.
All of the extras I love, so does my 5&1/2 year old son.
The movie itself is in my top 3 favorite PIXAR features (the other 2 being "Ratatouille" and "The Incredibles"). Absolutely an outstanding movie from beginning to end. And the music is at turns oddly fun and heart-wrenchingly lovely. For a film that has so little dialogue the music is paramount and Thomas Newman NAILS IT.
Highly recommended!

Amazing Love Story? January 8, 2009
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The characters, although animated robots, have great emotions and relationship development. There is even a strong save the earth message. However, the best part is seeing what happens to the humans after years of time saving shortcuts, sitting around, and not exerting any energy. Voice activated gadgets, remote start for my car, TV remotes, won't be long till we get to the "cupcake in a cup" stage. A definite classic. Way to go Pixar... again!
Crystal Clear! January 8, 2009
This is truly Blue Ray at it's finest! It's one thing to watch a movie with real people in it, and another thing completely to watch Pixar's digital animation shine. The crystal clear picture, makes this movie good, even when you don't like the storyline.
I must say that the movie itself was slightly bland. Though it is directed at children, I don't think most would really understand it all. The first hour provides amazing graphics, and musical classics, but in the line of conversation and "talking", you don't get much within the first hour. This can be an issue for a 4-year-old with a low attention span.
