5 out of 5 stars Hail the Return of Great Viewing.   January 23, 2008
This is part 8/10. I think that Destiny Deoxys is one of the best Pokemon movies. The movie really stuck with me and I loved the idea of the battle between Deoxys and Rayquaza. It was great. I loved the technologically advanced city and the battle tower was great. I loved Plusle, Minun, and Munchlax. I also like the little boy's story about overcoming his fears. Prepare for a great watch.

3 out of 5 stars The battle of the space creatures   February 6, 2007

The storey of Pokemon continues from where it left off after the events in the previous movie Jirachi Wishmaker. It has been a few months have gone by this movie takes place during the time period of Pokemon Advanced Challenge series which takes place after the plan Pokemon Advance series started. Just to let you know this movie takes place in two different time periods. The movie starts at night up at the North Pole. A gigantic meteor crashes into the ground. An unknown Pokemon emerges from the meteor. A scientist and his family witness the incident. However chaos some breaks out. Shortly after the Pokemon later named Deoxys emerges chaos break lose. For some reason never explain maybe having its territory disrupted Deoxys is attacked at the north pool by a gigantic snake like Pokemon called Rayquaza. The scientists are forced to retreat or be instantly vaporized. The battle ends and the mysterious Pokemon disappears into the water. The gigantic snake like Pokemon Rayquaza descends back to into the atmosphere. We jumped forward four years after the first appearance of Deoxys. Shortly after Ash, Brock, May, and Max end up in Laurousse City ash makes a new friend. He meets a young boy Tory who is petrified of Pokemon. When Tory was younger her got caught up in a stampede of some seal like Pokemon shortly after the arrival Deoxys in the North Pole. The incident left him petrified of them. If that was not worse enough Deoxys returns after not being seen for four years unfortunately this attracts Rayquaza and a second battle between the two Pokemon engages. It's up till Ash, May, Max, Brock and Tory to solve the mystery of Deoxys and find out what the mysterious creature is looking for. Can they solve the mystery and stop these two powerful Pokemon. Or will the futuristic Larousse city be reduce to ashes. Find out in the action pack conclusion. How ever a word of warming this movie has several scenes with mild heavy cartoon violence and thematic elements. That means I consider this film to be too intense and violent for kids younger than the age of ten and not intense enough to be meant for kids over the age of 12. So if your age 10, 11, or 12 this movie should be fine for you. This was a decent Pokemon movie with descendant action and adventure sequences in it and real good music. Unfortunately in this movie like in Pokemon Heroes the main members of team rocket Jessie, James and Mewoth barley interact with any one during the movie except each other. So as a result of this I was only able to give this movie 3 out of 5 stars because of team rocket mediocre involvement.

4 out of 5 stars Pokemon the Movie 7: Visitor From The Space Fissure   November 6, 2006

(Just as a note, that's the Japanese title)

There's something about this movie that I've always liked. I'm not sure what it is, but being a Pokemon fan, of course I like it. The movie have always been great, and this one has something that I really like about it.

The movie starts out in the North Pole, with a scientist named Dr. Lund, his friend Yuko, and his son, Tory. There is suddenly an explosion, and Tory is trampled by a frightened pack of Walrein. And, as they say, after that, all heck broke looks.

A meteor is the reason for the explosion, and the creature inside the meteor is more than your average Pokemon. Deoxys, a rare Pokemon from another planet (woah, more than one Poke-Planet? Niiice.) The strange creature, carrying a rock with a gem inside, is suddenly attacked by the large, dragon-esque Rayquaza, a frequenter of the Ozone Layer. So, what the heck is he here for?

Ah, So Rayquaza feels threatened by Deoxys, and so, both pokemon break out in a rather spectacular pokemon battle. (With some pretty cool background music, might I add.) So, professor Lund flees with his colleages, and son.

Four years later, a young Pokemon trainer named Ash Ketchum, along with some friends, enter the high tech city of La Rousse, and as fate would have it, Tory's hometown. And, well, I won't spoil it from there. The plot is good, and Deoxys' 'destructive' intentions are less cruel than one would think. Don't worry, folks, no angsty Mewtwo-copy here.

Also, Rayquaza brings some nice battles into the movie. His fights against Deoxys are totally awesome. The soundtrack is also great. I really love the music played during The opening scenes of the movie, and the fights between Rayquaza and Deoxys. The animation is very spiffy, shiny bright and new :P.

I haven't had the pleasure of watching the original Japanese version of the movie, but when I do, I'll tell you all about it, 'kay?

Well, I guess that pretty much wraps things up. Oh yes, Tory's afraid of pokemon, due to the whole 'get attacked by a herd of walrein' thing. Heh. Okay then, Sayanora, faithful readers!
