5 out of 5 stars so classicly awesome Daft Punk!! (a "must-own" for me!)   November 10, 2008
I don't suppose anybody knows if the 1.33:1 screen aspect ratio is the original production format??? I assume that it is since i can't find it in a widescreen version anywhere.

In other news... this movie is saweeeet! =)

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite films of all time!!   October 12, 2008
I absolutely love this movie, the music is fantastic and the story is engrossing. I can't remember the last time i watched a film where i actually formed an emotional connection to the characters. The animation melds perfectly with the music and the graphics are stunning. Great storytelling goes a long way nowadays and this film has it in spades. A must see film for anyone especially fans of Daft Punk. A+++

5 out of 5 stars Awesome movie   October 3, 2008
If you love music and love animation this is a must have in your collection!

5 out of 5 stars A Daft Punk Musical? Me Rikey!!!!   September 25, 2008
Leave it to Daft Punk to even catch my interest on an anime film. Yes, I am one of those persons who don't watch anime, as I don't find it very interesting. But Daft Punk's Discovery is the only reason why I watched this, and, it makes all of those songs come to life, and the story, while not groudbreaking, is very enjoyable.

The animation on here may or may not be up to par at anime's standards (after all, I have no interest in the style), but this is gorgeous at times, and always evocative and entertaining. There is no dialouge, so all the emotion is shown with the music and facial expressions (you can tell they talk and scream, but you don't hear it). The people who created this synched up the music and film perfectly. You will never have to wonder why they put things in places, everything flows perfectly. And plus, the repitition of songs that destroyed High Life and Superheroes on the album now are good in the context of the movies. They can't stand on their own when I just listen to the album, but in the movie, they work well. And the people complaining about repitition in the songs that rule make sense and all of the sudden don't seem so long and meddling. The pairing of the animation and music render all the problems of the Discover album useless.

There isn't much else to say about this movie. get it now, considering that Daft's punk discovery is better than ever. This may be the only movie that has convinced me to watch it only because of the music (though I want to watch Friday Night Lights because of the Explosions in The Sky soundtrack), and even if you hate anime, you should watch this anyway if you like Daft Punk.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!!   September 14, 2008
This is a great movie. This movie is so amazing that it has no need for words. And there are no words. The music is from the Daft Punk Discovery album. It is all animated and is a good investment for any music lover of Daft Punk.
